Data engineering for records of consequence

VAERESOURCE is a veteran-owned (SDVOSB/VOSB/WOSB) data engineering firm that builds the pipelines, integrations, and migrations federal programs can put behind a benefits decision — and defend to an auditor.

What our federal data engineering covers

We design and operate production data systems end-to-end — from raw, messy source data to validated, reportable output — for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. As a certified SDVOSB, we deliver this work hands-on, principal-led, with an active DoD Secret clearance.

How we migrate records of record — without losing one

Records migration is where most modernization efforts get hurt. Our method treats a wrong write as worse than a blocked one: discrepancies fail closed rather than silently pass.

Profile first. Catalog every source entity, field, and code set; profile for completeness, duplication, and referential integrity before mapping.
Governed mapping. Versioned, traceable source-to-target crosswalk; reconcile code sets and business rules to authoritative sources.
Reversible, incremental cutover. Migrate by bounded domain behind feature flags — each wave independently validated and independently reversible.
Automated reconciliation & dual-run. Row-level and control-total checks; discrepancies block promotion.
Cutover, hypercare, retire. Runbook-driven cutover with rollback triggers; decommission legacy only after sign-off.

Why a veteran-owned small business for data engineering

VAERESOURCE is SBA-certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Veteran-Owned, and Woman-Owned Small Business, carrying VA's Veterans First first-preference status under Public Law 109-461. Work is delivered directly by a senior principal engineer — a U.S. Army veteran with an active DoD Secret clearance — not diluted through layers of staff. Where a requirement calls for depth beyond our self-perform core, we team, and we represent our capabilities and experience honestly.

Security posture is built to a government standard: CMMC Level 1 (self-assessed), NIST SP 800-171 self-assessment score 88, and Section 508-conformant delivery.
